Batloung ("people of the elephant") are a Sotho-Tswana clan venerating the elephant (tlou). They are related to the wider Sotho migrations into the highveld and are found in the Free State, Lesotho and the former Transvaal (the Batlou/Batloung of Sekhukhune/Pedi areas share the elephant totem). They feature among the clans incorporated into the Basotho nation.
