Fakudze Clan — History & Meaning
Swati clan · siSwati
History & origin
Fakudze is one of the emakhandzambili ("those found ahead") clans, peoples already established on the land prior to the arrival and conquest of the Dlamini. Like other emakhandzambili, the Fakudze were incorporated into the Swazi kingdom under Sobhuza I, often initially retaining wide autonomy and at times ritual or political privileges, before their independence was curtailed under Mswati II in the mid-19th century.
