Madvonsela Clan — History & Meaning
Swati clan · siSwati
History & origin
Madvonsela is counted among the bemdzabuko ("true Swazi" or original) clans, the core group that accompanied the Dlamini royal lineage during the early migrations that formed the Swazi nation. These founding clans travelled with the Dlamini kings from the Delagoa Bay/Tembe River region (near present-day Maputo, Mozambique), settling along the Pongola River before moving into the heartland of present-day Eswatini. As a bemdzabuko clan, Madvonsela is regarded as part of the original Swazi nucleus rather than a later-absorbed or conquered group.
