Ngcamphalala Clan — History & Meaning
Swati clan · siSwati
History & origin
Ngcamphalala is one of the emakhandzambili ("those found ahead") clans, recorded as having lived on the land before the Dlamini immigration and conquest. As with the other emakhandzambili, the Ngcamphalala were incorporated into the developing Swazi kingdom under Sobhuza I, sometimes granted autonomy and ritual or political standing, with that independence later curtailed during Mswati II's centralisation of power.
