The dove badge and ZCC uniform
The badge is the clearest marker distinguishing the St Engenas (Dove) branch from the main ZCC (Star). This page describes the regalia of the tradition.
Star and dove badges
Members of the main ZCC wear a silver metal star, traditionally on a green cloth background; members of the St Engenas branch wear a dove badge, added by Joseph Lekganyane in 1965 when he renamed the church. The badge identifies a member's branch at a glance.
Colours and dress
Green and yellow are central church colours across the tradition. Male members are documented wearing khaki, military-style uniforms with peaked caps for the church's vigorous dance-and-song groups, and green-and-yellow attire for worship services.
